Your platform team is just another dev team

If we define DevOps as a means to make teams able to operate independently this makes sense. Independent teams should be able deploy their software without other humans in the loop. Their dependencies should be on self-service APIs with good documentation. Their own product should do the same for others.

So in order to work well within an environment based on good product engineering practices, the platform team should just be another dev team.
